ABOUT A.S.C
MADE IN THE UNITED STATES
It’s an incredible blessing to be born in the United States of America. As a patriotic US citizen, veteran of the US Army, and lover of the outdoors I can say unashamedly that I love my country. The vast expanse of the USA varies from region to region in terrain, weather, flora and fauna. An American citizen can easily traverse from the temperate rainforests of the Pacific Northwest, down to the arid landscapes of the Southwest, over to the plains of the Midwest, and on to the swamps and bayous of the South, only to hike through the expansive forest of the Appalachians up into the Great Lakes area and beyond. God surely has blessed us to experience so much beauty in one amazing country.
Rich with abundant natural resources the United States of America has been a constant source of blessing for all peoples of our world from the earliest days of its inhabitancy. While we must be good stewards of all that she provides to ensure that she’ll continue to do so for generations to come, there is enough to go around with the promise of much more. It’s all baked into the design.
THE AMERICAN SMOKE CO
I started The American Smoke Company out of a love for the flavor of wood. Whether it’s cooking over an open fire, grilling on wood charcoal, slow-smoking meat, or even cold-smoking fish and cheese, wood smoke enhances the flavor of food. The smell of hardwood smoke alone transports one to pleasant memories-such as enjoying a campfire with good friends or the smell of the smoke from a chimney while out on winter walk through the neighborhood.
USA SALT & USA TREES
The reason I have chosen to smoke salt is that it infuses your food with flavor while pulling the inherent flavor out of the food it seasons. It is a win win! As we learn how to prepare and cook our food better, we will get more enjoyment out of life. I believe that smoked salt can help you further down the road of that journey. To do so I’m working to pick out the finest and purest salts mined or collected in America as well as the best wood this country has to offer from an ever-growing variety of tree types-some of which I even chop down and process myself.
I have started with coarse American sea salt gathered from the Pacific ocean along the coast of California and seven different tree types: hickory, oak, mesquite, kiawe, pecan, apple, and cherry, but plan to add more types soon. I also have a few special releases of salt and wood smoke from around the world in the works as well. Stay tuned!
American smoke, American flavor!
